Skyrim - Nightingale armor #6

Hi all!^^
Time again for another photodump, this time working on the "skirt" of the armor.

So I started out with the belt, which is made up of these two lovely pieces!

Then we add the first little piece of the skirt...

 And then comes the many MANY other pieces^^0

Adding some details(and getting painfully acquaintanced with needles againT_T)

 And one suddenly has something that looks like this, yay!^^

Pretty pretty details, makes me really glad I choose to work with this material... even if I do complain about it a lot^^0

Fshgskghjkdhg*needles!!*

And the end result is this! Still a while to go yet, but sewing the remaining pieces together should be child's play after adding the details---should being an important keyword herexP

Skyrim - Nightingale armor #5

Hei guys and welcome back to the cave!^^

First semester is over together with the exams and I've had several days break before starting again so this is what I've managed to make throughout January. Get ready for picture dump!

 

Starting out with the chest piece.

The straps is going to be fastened too this one..

 

And continuing on with the many MANY pieces which make up the "stomach" of the armor.

This is the upper middle piece, which sits right under the bust and to create the same pattern, like the one in the game, another piece is cut out and both of them fastened, like this:

 

This was the first middle piece, now I just need two more -3-

 

Okay so now with that done, remember the funky piece from my last post? Yea I need two more of those as well s here we go!

You put them together and add a whole lot of needles and then you've got!

The needle monster 2.0!! 

 

It was a complete nightmare putting this thing on, but oh well, sacrifices have to be made... in this case it was the skin on my arms and stomach that had to suffer-.-0

Moving on to the back!
Before I start sewing the needle monster together I had to make sure I could close the back. I went with hooks instead of a zipper because they're not that noticeable and they're also a bit easier to move in case(god forbid) I actually lose a bit of that christmas stomach I grew over the holidaysxP

So I sew on this extra piece of fabric, and in between the two I sew on the eye, as seen below:

 Peekaboo!:P Pretty easy now on to the hook...

 

Which also went rather smoothly.

Now after I made sure the back fit, fastened the front pieces with needles and taking the armor on and off more times than I bothered to count! I was finally able to sew the front pieces together and this was the final result^^ 

TADAA!!xD

Next up: finishing the neck and then moving on to the skirt, until then.

Skyrim - Nightingale armor #4

Wohuuh! two posts in under a month I feel so productive!^3^

 

So today I went and worked a bit on the back, something which I have been dreading for a while because I simply couldn't find a good reference picture with the cape always being in the way!X_x But then as I was starting consider just winging it I remembered the in game item viewer and after I stopped hitting my head against the desk feeling stupid I got to work^^0

So I used one of my vests as model and came up with this piece. The first of many funky pieces I've cut out and sewn together today^^0

 I'm leaving the upper back and neckpiece open for now. I'm still concidering weather or not I'm using Velcro, pushbuttons or something completely different to close it, so for now we're working downwards:)

 Which brings us to funky piece #2 and the return of needlesX_X

 Needles is such  a great tool... as long as they stay in the fabric and away from my poor fingersQ_Q

 Funky piece #3 This was by far the most complicated piece to make and fit into place, and it' twice as important because this is the piece connecting the front with back, so without further ado, I present to you.

Skyrim - Nightingale armor #3

 I'm BAAAACK!!!XDD

Ehem...Hi all^^0 So to explain my more than three months absence I can only say that moving is a bitch and after several months mostly living in a trailer you start to appreciate the little things in life like indoor plumbing, radiators and freaking INTERNET!X_X

Anyway! I'm very happy about my new apartment(more like room with kitchen, but oh wellxP) and university is a blast with amazing people and lectures which has kept me busy, but NOW I actually managed to sit down in peace and start sewing again:D

 

So to begin with explaining what I've done, I've got to admit... I have very little idea^^0 I can't just sew the top armor as a shirt because of the many straps and other details, so I'm simply just starting from the neck and then working down slowly until hopefully I have a front piece that can be fastened to a back piece.

So I tried making the pattern with paper and while it took a few tries before it fit correctly it paid out in the end when I had to do it again with the fake leather.

 

(Lots of needles again but thankfully not as many as the last time!)

Aaaand that's it! It doesn't look like much but it took awfully long time to make^^0 Hopefully next time I can work a bit on the back so I can actually put it on, but until then.
